Advice for Road Runners: The Mizuno Men's Wave Equate 7 stability running shoes in the Blue Depths/Silver/Neon Flame colourway are supportive and well cushioned. If you need extra stability and have flatter arches, the style of support in these should suit your feet.

Underfoot Feel

The double fan shaped Wave Plate in the Mizuno Wave Equate 7 reduces pronation. This is because the medial side of the Wave is higher and supports your arches. While it feels supportive, it should also feel natural and comfortable.

We don't expect you'll think the Mizuno Equate 7 cushioning feels ultra soft. However, U4ic cushioning feels protective and padded. Mizuno's premium cushioning, Mizuno Enerzy, is positioned in the heel area. Meaning it works well for heel strikers. The midsole construction improves the sensation of support and stability.

Upper Fit

The Mizuno Wave Equate 7 should feel supportive and secure around the ankle area. While the AIRmesh upper feels light and breathable throughout the rest of the shoe. Like most Mizuno running shoes, these feel accommodating in the forefoot. If you like space for your toes to splay, you should find these comfortable.

Ideal Run Type

The support in the Mizuno Men's Wave Equate 7 is well suited to runners with greater ranges of pronation. This is because of the supportive Wave Plate design. In our experience, this type of support works best for runners whose instability stems from the foot and ankle area.

From a pace perspective, we recommend running in these for slower to steady paced runs. This is largely down to the fact that the cushioning feels best when you're running at a consistent effort. The Mizuno Wave Equate 7 has enough cushioning to feel great on long distance runs.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
